The state has launched a rapid pothole‑repair drive across 309 local bodies, finishing work in 166 of them and setting a September 5 deadline for the remainder.

Rajasthan’s administration has moved into "mission mode" to address the deteriorating condition of roads during the monsoon season, especially with local body elections looming. The government announced a focused pothole‑patching campaign that targets 309 municipal and panchayat areas across the state.

As of the latest update, repair work has been completed in 166 local bodies, where crews applied temporary patches to fill potholes and improve surface safety. The remaining 143 bodies have been given a firm deadline of September 5 to finish the same remedial work, under close monitoring by state officials.

Officials say the swift intervention aims to prevent traffic disruptions and accidents before voters head to the polls, while also showcasing the administration’s commitment to basic infrastructure. The patchwork is a stop‑gap measure, with longer‑term road‑upgradation plans slated for the next fiscal year.
