Rajasthan Expands Ayushman Scheme: Cashless Treatment Up to ₹25 Lakh Nationwide (Except Karnataka, Tamil Nadu)

Under the Ayushman Rajasthan scheme, eligible families can now receive cashless treatment worth up to ₹25 lakh in any state except Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Over 30,000 patients have benefited in the past six months.
The Rajasthan government has broadened the Ayushman Rajasthan scheme, allowing eligible families to access cashless treatment up to ₹25 lakh in any state across India, with the exception of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The move is part of a broader effort to enhance healthcare accessibility for low‑income households.
Under the expanded scheme, families who meet the income and health criteria can now seek treatment at designated public and private hospitals nationwide without upfront payment. The coverage includes major surgeries, critical care, and specialist consultations, subject to the ₹25 lakh limit.
According to state officials, more than 30,000 patients have already benefited from the scheme in the first six months after the launch of the expansion. The majority of these beneficiaries were from rural districts, highlighting the scheme’s reach.
Health Minister Rameshwar Singh emphasized that the expansion will reduce financial barriers and improve health outcomes for Rajasthan’s poorest communities, while also encouraging inter‑state cooperation in healthcare delivery.
