Dr. Manasvi Agrawal from Rajasthan successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, marking a historic first, but suffered severe frostbite that resulted in the loss of both toes during the descent.

Dr. Manasvi Agrowal, a medical professional from Rajasthan, achieved a landmark feat by standing atop Mount Everest, becoming the first person from the state to do so. The ascent, completed after weeks of preparation and acclimatization, was celebrated as a milestone for both the mountaineering community and the region.

The descent proved far more harrowing. Exposure to extreme cold and prolonged exposure on the mountain led to severe frostbite in her feet. Medical assessment after reaching base camp confirmed that the damage was irreversible, and both of her toes had to be amputated to prevent further complications.

Despite the painful outcome, Dr. Agrawal expressed gratitude for the support she received from her team and the medical staff at the base camp. She emphasized that the experience underscores the risks inherent in high‑altitude climbing and hopes her journey will inspire safer practices for future Indian climbers.

The incident has drawn attention from the Indian mountaineering federation and health authorities, who are reviewing safety protocols for expeditions to extreme altitudes. Dr. Agrawal’s achievement, coupled with the medical challenges she faced, highlights both the triumph and the peril of pushing human limits on the world’s highest peak.
