A constable posted at Ghatoli police station in Jhalawar was terminated after being caught with ₹14 lakh in cash linked to a drug trafficking case.
Jhalawar district's Ghatoli police station saw a senior police official take decisive action on Thursday, as Constable Manoj Kumar Malav was removed from the Rajasthan state service. The dismissal was ordered by Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar following a probe that linked the constable to a narcotics trafficking network.
Investigators recovered cash amounting to approximately ₹14 lakh from the constable's possession during the raid. The seized money is believed to be proceeds of the illicit drug trade that the officer allegedly facilitated.
In a brief statement, SP Amit Kumar said the move underscores the department's zero‑tolerance stance toward corruption and drug‑related offenses within its ranks. The constable will now face criminal proceedings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, while the department continues its broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.
