Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced a government grant of Rs 52 crore aimed at supporting 3,540 athletes across Rajasthan. The scheme, unveiled during a press conference in Jaipur, is intended to remove financial constraints that often limit sportspeople from pursuing full‑time training.
According to the announcement, each eligible player will receive a proportionate share of the fund, with the exact amount varying based on sport and performance criteria. The distribution will be coordinated through the state sports department, which will verify eligibility and disburse the money directly to the athletes.
Sharma emphasized that the incentive is designed to nurture talent and improve the state’s representation in national and international competitions. He urged the beneficiaries to channel the support into better coaching, equipment, and participation in higher‑level events.
