The Rajasthan Chief Justice’s 48‑hour deadline over a school‑yard beating has expired, and MP Ashutosh Ranka publicly asked police why no arrests have been made.

The 48‑hour ultimatum issued by the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court concerning a violent incident at the Rampara‑Kanvarpura government school has lapsed on Sunday. The deadline was intended to compel the state government to take swift action, including filing FIRs and making arrests, after reports of a physical assault among students.

Following the expiry of the ultimatum, Rajasthan Member of Parliament Ashutosh Ranka posted a video on social media questioning the police response. In the clip, Ranka asked officials why no arrests had been made despite the court’s warning and urged immediate enforcement of the law.

State authorities have not yet released an official statement on the police’s progress in the case. The incident has sparked unrest in Jodhpur, where local residents and political leaders have demanded accountability and swift justice for the victims.

The situation underscores growing tension between the judiciary’s directives and the executive’s implementation, a dynamic that has previously surfaced in Rajasthan’s law‑and‑order debates.
