The central government has approved the Rajasthan government's request to extend Chief Secretary V. Srinivas's tenure by six months, keeping him in office until 28 February 2027.

New Delhi has given the green light to the Rajasthan government's proposal to prolong the tenure of its chief secretary, V. Srinivas, by six months. The extension means Srinivas will continue to serve as the top bureaucrat of the state until 28 February 2027.

The decision was communicated by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, which oversees senior civil service appointments. It follows a formal request from the Rajasthan state administration, citing the need for continuity in governance.

As chief secretary, Srinivas heads the state’s civil services and coordinates the implementation of government policies across departments. The six‑month extension is expected to provide stability as the state navigates ongoing development projects and administrative reforms.

No additional changes to the administrative hierarchy were announced alongside the tenure extension, and the move has been described as a routine procedural approval between the centre and the state.
