The Rajasthan Employee Selection Board has sent a proposal to the state government to install low‑power jamming devices in every competitive‑exam hall, aiming to block signals from smart glasses used for cheating.

The Rajasthan Employee Selection Board (RESB) is preparing to introduce low‑power jamming equipment in all venues where it conducts competitive examinations. The measure is intended to neutralise wireless signals that could be exploited by smart glasses, a growing concern among exam authorities.

A formal proposal outlining the technical specifications, estimated costs and implementation schedule has been submitted to the state government for approval. RESB officials say the jammers will operate at a power level sufficient to disrupt only the immediate vicinity of the exam hall, thereby minimising any impact on surrounding areas.

If sanctioned, the jamming devices will be installed before the next round of examinations, with the board planning to monitor their effectiveness and adjust settings as needed. The initiative reflects a broader effort across Indian testing agencies to safeguard the integrity of assessments in the face of advancing wearable technology.
