The Rajasthan State Election Commission has scheduled the first phase of the local body elections for September 9 and the second phase for September 11.
The Rajasthan State Election Commission issued an official notification today setting the timetable for this year’s local body elections. The first phase will be conducted on September 9, followed by a second phase on September 11, covering all scheduled constituencies across the state.
These elections will determine representatives for municipal councils, panchayat samitis and other local governing bodies, a process that traditionally influences the political landscape ahead of the state assembly polls. While the exact number of seats has not been disclosed in the announcement, the schedule applies uniformly to urban and rural jurisdictions.
The commission emphasized that the two‑day schedule is designed to ensure smooth logistics, adequate security deployment and sufficient polling personnel. Election officials have been instructed to set up voting booths, distribute electronic voting machines and coordinate with law‑enforcement agencies to maintain order.
Political parties have begun mobilising their cadres in anticipation of the vote, but the commission has asked all stakeholders to respect the code of conduct and refrain from any activities that could disrupt the electoral process.
