The Rajasthan government has issued the Rajasthan Mineral Concession (Third Amendment) Rules, 2026, permitting holders of major mineral leases to incorporate minor minerals within the same lease.

The state government of Rajasthan has formally released the Rajasthan Mineral Concession (Third Amendment) Rules, 2026. The notification updates the existing framework governing mineral leases across the state.
Under the amendment, entities that already hold leases for major minerals such as limestone, gypsum or bauxite will be allowed to add minor minerals to the same lease parcel. Earlier, separate applications and approvals were required for each mineral category.
Industry observers say the change could simplify administrative procedures, reduce processing time and lower transaction costs for mining companies. By consolidating lease management, the state aims to make its mineral sector more attractive to investors while ensuring better regulatory oversight.
The government has indicated that the amendment aligns with broader efforts to modernise Rajasthan’s mining policy and to promote sustainable exploitation of its diverse mineral resources.
