Heavy rain fell across Jaipur and nearby districts, while a hailstorm in Suratgarh caused noticeable damage to standing crops.
Rain showers spread across Jaipur and several adjoining districts of Rajasthan on Tuesday, bringing intermittent downpours that disrupted daily activities and prompted local traffic advisories. Meteorological officials recorded moderate to heavy precipitation in the capital and noted that the weather system is expected to move eastward over the next 24 hours.
In the northern part of the state, the town of Suratgarh experienced a sudden hailstorm. Large hailstones struck agricultural fields, breaking plant stems and bruising fruits, leading farmers to report visible crop loss. Preliminary assessments suggest that the damage is confined to a few square kilometres of wheat and mustard crops that were at a critical growth stage.
District authorities in both Jaipur and Sri Ganganagar have been dispatched to monitor the situation. The Rajasthan State Disaster Management Authority has issued advisories for farmers to protect remaining produce and has promised to evaluate compensation claims once a detailed damage survey is completed.
