Rain Reveals ₹50 Lakh Diamond in Panna, Madhya Pradesh

During a sudden downpour on Tuesday, a 32‑year‑old labourer working in a quarry near the town of Panna discovered a rough diamond embedded in a rock. The stone, estimated to be worth about ₹50 lakh, was brought to the district collector’s office for official assessment. Local police and gemologists are now examining the specimen to determine its clarity and cut. The find has attracted attention from both the mining community and the state’s tourism department, which hopes to promote Panna as a site of natural wonder.
