A western disturbance brought rain to Shri Ganganagar and hail to Alwar and nearby areas in Rajasthan today.
The India Meteorological Department said a western disturbance moved across northern India, delivering precipitation to Rajasthan on Thursday. Showers were recorded in Shri Ganganagar while hailstones fell in Alwar and parts of the Kotputli‑Bahad region.
In Shri Ganganagar, light to moderate rain began in the early hours, bringing cloudy skies and a brief drop in temperature. The rain was confined to a few hours and did not cause any reported disruptions.
Alwar experienced a brief hailstorm that lasted only a few minutes, with small hailstones striking the ground. Residents reported minor damage to crops and a few vehicles, but no injuries were reported.
Weather officials warned that the western disturbance could linger, potentially bringing additional showers or hail to other districts of Rajasthan later in the day.
