Rain eases eastern Rajasthan while western districts grapple with soaring humidity

Eastern Rajasthan received rainfall that brought temporary relief, whereas the western part of the state is experiencing heightened humidity and heat.
The monsoon trough moved across the eastern districts of Rajasthan on Tuesday, delivering scattered showers that lowered temperatures and provided much‑needed respite after weeks of dry heat. Meteorological officials said the rainfall was moderate, with accumulations ranging from 10 to 20 millimetres in areas such as Sawai Madhopur and Karauli.
In contrast, the western regions, including Jodhpur, Barmer and Jaisalmer, reported a sharp rise in humidity levels, with dew points climbing above 30°C. The combination of high temperatures and moisture has intensified the perceived heat, prompting health advisories for vulnerable populations.
