Heavy rain interrupted the Ranji Trophy clash between Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, reducing MP’s chances of securing an outright victory.
The 2026/27 Ranji Trophy encounter between Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir was halted by a sudden downpour, forcing officials to suspend play for several hours. Both sides had been locked in a competitive first innings, with Madhya Pradesh looking to press for a decisive result.
Rain‑affected conditions disrupted the batting momentum of Madhya Pradesh, limiting their ability to build a commanding lead that could have secured an outright win. As the overs were lost, the match moved closer to a draw, denting MP’s aspirations for full points.
The teams will resume the remaining sessions when the weather clears, but the lost time means the outcome will likely hinge on the remaining innings rather than a clear victory for Madhya Pradesh.
