Monsoon has officially withdrawn from Madhya Pradesh, yet eastern districts will see showers on Friday while the capital Bhopal and Indore remain clear.
The Indian Meteorological Department confirmed that the monsoon season officially left Madhya Pradesh on October 3. However, the lingering effects of a recent cyclone and associated trough have kept rain active in the state’s eastern belt.
Forecasts for Friday indicate showers across nine districts in eastern Madhya Pradesh, with local authorities warning of possible waterlogging in low‑lying areas. Residents in districts such as Jabalpur, Shahdol and Rewa have been advised to carry umbrellas and exercise caution while travelling.
In contrast, the central and western parts of the state, including the capital Bhopal and the major city Indore, are expected to enjoy clear skies and sunshine throughout the day. The weather bulletin noted that temperatures will be moderate, providing a brief respite after weeks of heavy rain.
Officials reminded the public that while the monsoon has withdrawn, isolated thunderstorms may still develop in the evening, and they urged people to stay updated with local forecasts.
