A western disturbance combined with a Bay of Bengal system has prompted rain alerts across 16 districts of Rajasthan, while hail in Jaisalmer and Kota has caused temperatures to drop.
The weather over Rajasthan has undergone a noticeable shift as a western disturbance merged with a system originating from the Bay of Bengal. This combination has introduced moisture and instability across the state, altering conditions for the next two days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow rain alert for 16 districts, signalling the likelihood of moderate rainfall. Areas under the alert include Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur and several others, where residents are advised to stay prepared for sudden showers.
In the north‑western districts of Jaisalmer and Kota, the same system has produced hailstorms, leading to a sharp fall in temperature. Local reports indicate that the hail was accompanied by gusty winds, causing a temporary dip of several degrees in daytime highs.
Meteorologists expect the western disturbance to move eastward by the end of the 48‑hour period, gradually reducing the chance of further precipitation, while temperatures are likely to recover slowly thereafter.
