The Punjab Cabinet has approved the creation of 35 special courts dedicated to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases. This move aims to significantly reduce the backlog of pending NDPS cases in the state.

In a significant step to address the mounting backlog of cases related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Punjab Cabinet has approved the establishment of 35 specialized courts. These courts will be dedicated solely to hearing and adjudicating NDPS cases, freeing up resources in regular courts and allowing for a more efficient and timely resolution of these matters. The move is expected to significantly reduce the pendency of NDPS cases in the state, improving the overall efficiency of the justice system.
