Punjab Sees Slight Increase in Farm Fires, Remains Significantly Lower Than Last Year

A recent report indicates a marginal rise in the number of farm fires in Punjab. While the count has climbed to 574, this figure is still significantly lower than the 1,678 fires recorded during the same period last year. This represents a decrease of 66% compared to 2023. Experts attribute the decline to various factors, including increased awareness campaigns and stricter enforcement of regulations aimed at curbing the practice of stubble burning.
