Punjab National Bank has cautioned its customers about a rise in AI‑powered cyberattacks and urged them to stay vigilant against fraudulent schemes.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a formal warning to its customers after a noticeable uptick in cyberfrauds that employ artificial intelligence. The bank highlighted that attackers are using AI to craft more convincing phishing emails and spoofing messages, making it harder for customers to identify legitimate communications.

According to the notice, the surge in frauds has led to a spike in reported incidents where customers unknowingly shared sensitive information or transferred funds to fraudulent accounts. PNB stressed that these attacks are sophisticated and can bypass traditional security checks.

Customers are advised to verify the authenticity of any communication by contacting the bank through official channels, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and enable two‑factor authentication wherever possible. PNB also urged customers to be wary of unsolicited calls or messages requesting account details.

In response, PNB has strengthened its cybersecurity protocols, including enhanced monitoring of transaction patterns and deploying AI‑based threat detection systems. The bank has also announced a customer education campaign to raise awareness about the latest fraud tactics.
