Punjab's MSME sector was urged to embrace artificial intelligence and automation, as Minister Saund highlighted their importance for competitiveness.
Ludhiana, Punjab – In a recent statement, Punjab's Minister Saund emphasized that small and medium enterprises in the state must integrate artificial intelligence and automation technologies to stay competitive in the evolving market. He noted that digital tools can streamline production, reduce costs, and open new avenues for growth, especially for businesses that have traditionally relied on manual processes.
The minister pointed out that while many MSMEs operate on limited resources, adopting AI-driven solutions such as predictive maintenance, inventory optimization, and data analytics can significantly boost efficiency. He urged industry bodies and government agencies to facilitate access to training, funding, and technical support for entrepreneurs willing to modernize their operations.
Saund also highlighted ongoing state initiatives aimed at fostering a digital ecosystem for MSMEs, including partnerships with technology firms and the establishment of innovation hubs. He called on business owners to view AI and automation not as optional upgrades but as essential components for future resilience.
The call comes amid broader national efforts to digitize the manufacturing sector, aligning with India's Make in India and Digital India programs. Experts suggest that early adoption could position Punjab's MSMEs to capture larger market share domestically and internationally.
