The Punjab health department has raised a dengue alert and begun inspections in Mohali schools to curb the spread of the disease.
The Punjab Health Department has placed the state on high alert after a recent uptick in dengue cases in the Mohali region. As part of the response, officials have started systematic inspections across schools to identify and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites. Teams are checking premises for stagnant water, uncovered containers and other conditions that favor Aedes mosquito proliferation. School authorities are being instructed to cooperate fully and to implement immediate vector‑control measures, including regular cleaning and fogging where necessary. The department has urged parents and students to adopt personal protection habits such as using repellents and wearing long sleeves during peak mosquito activity periods.
