Punjab Congress chief Raja Warring resigns, submits letter to Rahul Gandhi in Delhi

Amrinder Singh Raja Waring, who served as the Punjab Congress state president, met senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Tuesday. During the meeting, Waring handed over a written resignation letter, formally ending his tenure with the party's state unit.
He told reporters that he felt it was time to step aside and allow new leadership to take charge, adding that a break from active politics was necessary for him at this stage.
The resignation comes amid ongoing internal discussions within the Congress party about its strategy in Punjab ahead of upcoming elections. Gandhi acknowledged the resignation and thanked Waring for his years of service, without commenting on future arrangements.
Political analysts note that the move could trigger a reshuffle of the Punjab Congress hierarchy, though no immediate successor has been announced.
The Congress party has not released an official statement beyond confirming receipt of the resignation letter.
