The Punjab Assembly has adopted a resolution that could streamline visa procedures for Indian pilgrims wishing to visit Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan. The move is expected to simplify travel arrangements, though final implementation details are pending.
Kartarpur Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine located in Pakistan’s Punjab province, attracts thousands of Indian devotees each year.
The Punjab Assembly recently passed a resolution aimed at addressing the visa hurdles that many pilgrims face when attempting to visit the site.
While the resolution does not yet specify a visa‑free regime, it calls for a review of current procedures and proposes measures to expedite visa issuance for Indian citizens.
Implementation will require coordination with Pakistani authorities and the formulation of new guidelines, but the resolution signals a willingness to make the pilgrimage more accessible.
