The new Prime Video series 'Chaar Yaar' is being compared by critics to iconic Indian titles such as 'Satya', 'Company' and the action franchise 'Dhoom'.
The streaming drama 'Chaar Yaar', released on Prime Video, has quickly become a talking point among entertainment observers. Within days of its launch, several reviewers noted thematic and stylistic echoes with classic Indian crime narratives.
Commentators point to the gritty underworld portrayal in 'Chaar Yaar' as reminiscent of Ram Gopal Varma's cult classic 'Satya' and the corporate‑crime saga 'Company'. The series' high‑octane chase sequences and stylised action have also drawn parallels with the popular 'Dhoom' film franchise.
While the comparisons highlight the show's ambition to blend crime drama with mainstream action, producers have not officially linked the series to any of the earlier titles. The buzz underscores growing interest in Indian‑made content on global platforms and sets expectations for the series' upcoming episodes.
