Pratap Group announced a capital outlay of ₹850 crore to set up optical fibre and battery‑energy‑storage‑system (BESS) manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh.

The Pratap Group disclosed a plan to channel ₹850 crore into establishing two new manufacturing facilities in Madhya Pradesh – one for optical fibre cables and another for battery‑energy‑storage‑system (BESS) units. The investment is aimed at expanding the company's presence in the telecom infrastructure and clean‑energy sectors.

The optical fibre plant will focus on producing high‑capacity cables for broadband and 5G networks, while the BESS unit will manufacture modular battery systems intended for grid‑level storage and renewable‑energy integration. Both facilities are expected to be operational within the next 18‑24 months, subject to regulatory clearances.

Industry analysts anticipate that the new plants will generate significant employment opportunities and boost ancillary industries in the region. The move also aligns with the central government's push for greater digital connectivity and renewable‑energy adoption across the country.

The announcement was reported by ET Telecom, which cited the Pratap Group's strategic intent to leverage Madhya Pradesh's industrial incentives and logistics advantages.
