Prashant Kishor Accuses JD(U) Video of Being AI‑Generated, JD(U) Files Complaint

Prashant Kishor has alleged that a 57‑second JD(U) campaign clip featuring Nitish Kumar urging Bankipur voters to back NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha was fabricated using AI, prompting the party to lodge a formal complaint.

A 57‑second video released by the Janata Dal (United) showed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressing voters in the Bankipur constituency, urging them to support NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha. The clip, which was circulated on social media and local news outlets, quickly attracted attention from political observers.

Political strategist Prashant Kishor, who has previously worked with the JD(U), claimed that the video was not genuine but rather generated by artificial intelligence. He suggested that the footage was fabricated to influence voter sentiment ahead of the upcoming elections.

In response, the JD(U) filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission, stating that the video was a deliberate attempt to mislead voters and that it violated electoral guidelines. Party officials also demanded an investigation into the source of the clip.

The incident has raised questions about the use of deep‑fake technology in political campaigning and the mechanisms in place to verify the authenticity of campaign materials in India.
