The police and tourism department have jointly intensified safety protocols as India prepares for the upcoming peak tourist season.
Ahead of the expected surge in domestic and international travelers, police forces across the country are coordinating with tourism authorities to reinforce safety measures. Joint task forces have been formed to monitor crowded spots such as heritage sites, beaches and hill stations, with increased patrols and rapid response teams on standby.
The tourism department is upgrading signage, installing additional CCTV cameras, and setting up information kiosks to guide visitors on emergency procedures. Special training sessions are being conducted for local police personnel to handle crowd management and medical emergencies efficiently.
Officials said the combined effort aims to ensure a secure environment for tourists while minimizing disruptions to local communities. The measures will remain in place throughout the peak months, with periodic reviews based on real‑time feedback and incident reports.
