Police seize 5 cartons of Haryana liquor before Dausa panchayat polls, two arrested

Dausa, a town in Rajasthan, saw a police operation on the eve of the 2026 Panchayati Raj elections. Senior officers from the Sadar police station stopped a Scorpio vehicle and recovered five cartons of illicit English liquor that had been produced in Haryana. The seized liquor is classified as illegal because it lacks proper licensing and does not meet Indian standards. Two individuals accompanying the driver were taken into custody for possession and attempted distribution of the contraband. The seizure comes as authorities intensify checks ahead of the local elections to prevent the use of alcohol as a vote‑buying tool.
