Madhya Pradesh police confiscated 200 bags of urea during a raid on a rented house suspected of illegal fertilizer trading in Tikamgarh district.

Tikamgarh district authorities carried out a surprise operation on a rented premises that was being used as a hub for the illicit sale of urea fertilizer. During the raid, police recovered 200 bags of urea, each weighing 50 kilograms, which are believed to have been intended for black‑market distribution.

The seizure was part of a broader crackdown on illegal fertilizer trade that has been affecting farmers across Madhya Pradesh, driving up input costs and compromising crop yields. Officials said the operation was based on intelligence inputs and that further investigations are underway to identify the network behind the contraband.

Senior police officials highlighted that the confiscated stock will be handed over to the state agricultural department for legitimate distribution, while those involved in the unlawful activity will face strict legal action under the state's agricultural and narcotics regulations.
