Police raid illegal gambling den in Shahdol, arrest four, seize assets worth ₹7.43 lakh

Police in Shahdol’s Gohparu police station area conducted a raid on an illegal gambling den, arresting four suspects and confiscating cash, motorcycles and gambling paraphernalia valued at over ₹7.43 lakh.
Shahdol police, operating under the jurisdiction of Gohparu police station, carried out a surprise raid on an illegal gambling operation on Thursday. The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals suspected of running the den.
During the raid, officers seized cash amounting to ₹13,300 and confiscated six motorcycles believed to be linked to the gambling activities. In addition, gambling equipment and other contraband were recovered, bringing the total estimated value of the seized assets to more than ₹7.43 lakh.
Authorities said the raid was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal gambling in the region, which they claim fuels other criminal activities. The four accused have been taken into custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
