A food department inspection team in Shahdol’s Gadhi faced verbal abuse while probing a gas‑cylinder refill operation, leading the police to register a case against three brothers and others.
During a routine inspection of a gas‑cylinder refilling outlet in Gadhi, Shahdol, a team from the state Food Department was confronted with abusive language and hostile behaviour. The incident escalated when the officials reported that members of the outlet, including three brothers, used profane remarks against the inspectors.
The assistant supply officer of the department lodged a formal complaint with local police, describing the verbal assault and alleging obstruction of the investigation. Responding to the complaint, police officials registered a criminal case against the three brothers and several other individuals present at the site.
Authorities said the case will be investigated under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for assaulting a public servant and for causing public nuisance. No physical injuries were reported, and the inspection of the refilling premises has been temporarily suspended pending further inquiry.
