A statewide bandh in Punjab led to a complete shutdown of shops in Ludhiana, with police posted at multiple points to maintain order.
Ludhiana, Punjab – On the day of the statewide bandh, commercial establishments across Ludhiana remained closed as authorities enforced the shutdown. The local administration deployed police units at major intersections, market areas and transport hubs to deter any disturbances and ensure public safety.
Shop owners reported that they kept their premises shut in compliance with the bandh call, and no major traffic disruptions were recorded. Police presence was visible on the streets, with officers directing traffic and monitoring crowd movements.
The bandh, called by political groups across Punjab, aimed to protest recent policy decisions. While the protest remained largely peaceful in Ludhiana, the city witnessed a temporary halt to normal commercial activity, reflecting the broader impact of the shutdown across the state.
