Authorities have dismantled a bogus network marketing operation that defrauded 300 job seekers out of ₹50 lakh.

Police officers carried out a coordinated raid on a fraudulent multi‑level marketing (MLM) scheme that had lured hundreds of job seekers with promises of quick earnings. The operation, which was uncovered after complaints from victims, led to the seizure of documents, promotional material and financial records. Authorities recovered ₹50 lakh that had been extorted from 300 individuals who were recruited through deceptive marketing tactics.

Investigators revealed that the scheme operated by convincing participants to invest in training courses and product kits, with the pretext of building a legitimate business. The victims were told that they could earn substantial commissions by recruiting others, but in reality, the money was siphoned off by the organizers.

Following the raid, 300 job seekers were rescued and provided with legal assistance. The police have announced that the perpetrators will face charges under the Prevention of Corrupt Practices Act and the Indian Penal Code. The case serves as a warning to potential investors about the risks of unverified MLM ventures.
