A confrontation erupted at a Mata pandal in Shivpuri, with locals alleging police beat them with sticks, while the police chief rejected the claims, saying the pandal and DJ were set up at separate sites.

A disturbance broke out at a Mata pandal in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, when members of the attending crowd accused police officers of striking them with batons. The unrest quickly escalated, prompting a segment of the crowd to surround the local police station in protest.

According to eyewitnesses, the agitated crowd claimed that police personnel were under the influence of alcohol and used excessive force during the incident. The allegations were amplified by reports of the crowd encircling the police outpost, demanding accountability.

Thana Prabhari (station in‑charge) responded by stating that the Mata pandal was located at a different venue from where a DJ had been set up, implying that the two sites were unrelated to the alleged confrontation. He categorically dismissed the accusations of drunkenness and assault by police officers.

The episode has highlighted a clash of narratives between local residents and law‑enforcement officials. While the police maintain that no misconduct occurred, community members continue to demand a transparent inquiry into the events surrounding the pandal disturbance.
