Gujarat police have dismantled an illegal liquor manufacturing unit in Morbi, seizing equipment and arresting five suspects.
Police in Gujarat carried out a raid on an unauthorised liquor‑making facility in the industrial town of Morbi, breaking up the operation and taking five individuals into custody. The enforcement team reported that the unit was producing spurious alcoholic beverages that were not licensed for sale or consumption.
During the operation, authorities seized a range of equipment used for distillation, bottling and storage, along with raw materials and finished product. Officials warned that such illicit liquor poses serious health risks, including poisoning and long‑term organ damage, and highlighted the need for strict enforcement of prohibition laws.
The five arrested persons are being held for further questioning and are expected to face charges under the Gujarat Prohibition Act and related statutes. Police said the raid is part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal alcohol production in the state and protect public health.
