Rajasthan police’s special team raided a counterfeit fertilizer unit in Daulatpura, Jaipur, confiscating more than a thousand fake bags and arresting the operator.
The district special team West of Jaipur police launched a surprise raid on a makeshift fertilizer plant in the Daulatpura area on Tuesday. Investigators uncovered a large-scale operation that was producing and packaging counterfeit fertilizer under the names of several well‑known brands.
During the operation, officers seized over a thousand sealed bags of the fake product, each bearing the branding of legitimate manufacturers. The seized stock is expected to be sent to forensic labs for verification before further legal action.
The factory’s operator was taken into custody and is being interrogated for details about the supply chain. Police officials said the raid is part of a broader crackdown on a network that is believed to operate across multiple states, targeting farmers with substandard inputs.
Authorities warned that such counterfeit fertilizers can harm crop yields and soil health, urging farmers to purchase inputs only from authorized dealers.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests may follow as the probe expands to other regions linked to the illicit network.
