Punjab police detained wanted gangster Herman Singh in a morning clash at Mattéwal, Amritsar, where he sustained a foot injury and a pistol was recovered.
Amritsar police launched an operation in the Mattéwal locality on Wednesday morning after receiving intelligence about the presence of a wanted gangster. Officers confronted the suspect, identified as Herman Singh, leading to an armed exchange.
During the encounter, Singh was hit in the foot by police fire. He was subsequently taken into custody without further resistance.
A pistol was seized from the scene, and the injured suspect received medical attention before being transferred to a police station for formal booking.
