Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a ceremony in Delhi where he announced a package of development projects valued at Rs 33,500 crore. The announcement covered a range of infrastructure initiatives aimed at boosting connectivity and urban growth across the capital region.
Among the flagship schemes were two new corridors of the Delhi Metro, slated to link underserved neighborhoods with the existing network. The corridors will extend the metro’s reach, reduce travel time for commuters and support the city’s long‑term sustainability goals.
The broader investment package also includes road upgrades, flood‑control measures and affordable housing projects. Officials said the projects are expected to be completed in phases over the next five years, creating thousands of jobs and enhancing public services for Delhi’s residents.
