Pawan Kalyan Allocates Rs 100 crore for Pilgrim Facilities Ahead of Godavari Pushkaralu

Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Jana Sena Party, announced a financial package of Rs 100 crore to improve amenities for devotees gathering at the Godavari Pushkaralu, a major Hindu river‑festival scheduled later this year. The allocation is intended to cover temporary shelters, sanitation facilities, drinking water stations, and traffic management measures at key pilgrimage points along the Godavari River.

The funding decision comes as the state government prepares for an expected influx of millions of pilgrims from across the country. Officials say the additional resources will complement ongoing state‑run projects aimed at ensuring safety and hygiene during the event.

Kalyan emphasized that the investment reflects a commitment to support religious tourism and to boost the local economy of the surrounding regions. He urged relevant authorities to implement the upgrades swiftly so that the infrastructure is ready before the festival commences.

The Godavari Pushkaralu, which occurs once every twelve years, draws large crowds to bathing ghats in cities such as Rajahmundry and Kakinada. The new fund is expected to alleviate pressure on existing facilities and improve the overall experience for pilgrims.

Stakeholders, including local municipal bodies and temple trusts, have been asked to submit detailed project proposals within the next fortnight, after which the disbursement of funds will begin.
