Amarpatan police in Madhya Pradesh have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) following a complaint that a patwari in Kharmasda, a locality of Maher, faced verbal abuse and a direct threat to his life. The complainant alleges that the patwari not only used abusive language but also threatened to kill him. In addition, the patwari is accused of tearing official land‑record documents during the confrontation.
According to the FIR, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day, when the patwari allegedly entered the complainant's premises to retrieve or verify records. The altercation escalated, leading to the alleged threats and the alleged destruction of paperwork.
The police statement confirms that the FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to criminal intimidation and destruction of public documents. Investigations are underway, and the patwari has been summoned for questioning. No arrests have been reported as of now.
