In Patna’s Khajekalan area, a 60‑year‑old woman named Rekha Devi was discovered burned in her room late Saturday night. Police have arrested her son, who is alleged to have committed the murder.

At around 2 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to a residence in the Khajekalan police station area of Patna. Responding officers found the body of Rekha Devi, aged 60, severely burned inside the room. The cause of death was determined to be fire.

Investigations revealed that the fire was not accidental. The victim’s son, who has a history of alcohol abuse, was taken into custody shortly after the discovery.

The Patna Police Department has opened a murder inquiry and is examining evidence from the scene. No other suspects have been named at this time.

The case has drawn attention to the safety concerns in residential areas of Patna, with authorities urging residents to report any suspicious activity.
