On Tuesday, students protesting BPSC TRE‑4 exam reforms in Patna were forcibly taken into custody by police at Dakbangla Chowk.

Students gathered at Dakbangla Chowk in Patna on Tuesday to demand the removal of negative marking in the BPSC TRE‑4 exam and the inclusion of a 100% domicile quota, among other issues. The protest, organized by local student groups, grew increasingly intense as participants voiced frustration over perceived unfairness in the selection process.

Police units arrived at the scene and, citing concerns over public order, began detaining demonstrators. Several students were lifted from the crowd and taken to nearby police stations, prompting a sharp escalation in tensions between the protesters and law‑enforcement officers.

Prashant Kishor, a student leader present at the rally, asserted that the demands are legitimate and called for dialogue with the authorities. He urged the administration to address the grievances without resorting to force.

No reports of serious injuries emerged, but the incident has heightened anxieties among the student community about the handling of future protests in the state.
