Patiala authorities have approved the use of fireworks between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Diwali, allowing residents to celebrate safely.
Patiala city officials announced that fireworks will be permitted from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The decision follows a review of safety protocols and aims to balance tradition with public safety. Residents are advised to observe local fire‑safety guidelines and keep a safe distance from the launch sites.
The municipal corporation has set up monitoring teams to oversee the fireworks displays and will enforce penalties for any violations of the curfew. The move is part of a broader effort to manage crowd control and reduce fire hazards during the festival.
Patiala’s local police have also issued a reminder that the use of fireworks outside the approved hours is prohibited and may result in fines or legal action.
