Pakistan has withdrawn from the scheduled hockey tournament in Punjab, and Bangladesh will replace it, officials said.
Pakistan announced its withdrawal from the upcoming hockey tournament slated to be held in Punjab, citing undisclosed reasons. The decision was confirmed by tournament officials on Monday.
Bangladesh has been invited to fill the vacant slot, and the Bangladesh Hockey Federation has accepted the offer. Mann, a spokesperson for the event organizers, said the replacement will ensure the competition proceeds as planned without disrupting the schedule.
The tournament, featuring several South Asian teams, will continue on its original dates, with matches to be played across venues in Punjab. Organisers assured fans that the quality of play will remain high despite the change in participants.
