More than 60 representatives of the opposition INDIA alliance left Manipur to join a large rally in Delhi, Imphal Times reports.
Over 60 members of the opposition INDIA alliance departed Manipur on Thursday, traveling to the national capital to take part in a mass rally organized by the coalition. The delegation, comprising senior legislators and party functionaries, left Imphal by road and reached Delhi early on Friday.
The rally in Delhi, staged at the historic India Gate area, was intended to showcase the bloc's unified stance on several national issues, including economic reforms and federal-state relations. Organizers said the gathering would feature speeches from senior leaders of the constituent parties, aiming to mobilise public support ahead of upcoming parliamentary sessions.
Political analysts note that the presence of a sizable Manipur contingent underscores the alliance's effort to project a pan‑regional front, especially as several northeastern states have voiced concerns over recent policy decisions. The INDIA bloc has not released a detailed agenda for the rally, but officials indicated that the event will highlight the coalition's demand for greater transparency and accountability in governance.
