More than 571,000 SIR notices have been handed out across Meghalaya, and the state’s Chief Executive Officer has instructed officials to accelerate the delivery of the remaining notices.

The administration of Meghalaya reports that over 5.71 lakh Service Inspection Report (SIR) notices have now been physically delivered to the intended recipients throughout the state. The large‑scale distribution forms part of a scheduled outreach aimed at ensuring compliance with recent regulatory directives.

In a recent briefing, the Chief Executive Officer of Meghalaya directed district officials and field officers to expedite the delivery of the remaining notices, emphasizing that any further delay could affect the implementation timeline of the associated programme. The CEO set a target to complete the pending deliveries within the next two weeks.

Authorities said the accelerated effort will be monitored through daily progress reports and that beneficiaries will be informed of the next steps once they receive their notices. The swift completion is expected to facilitate timely action on the matters addressed in the SIRs, thereby supporting the state’s governance objectives.
