The State Disaster Relief Fund rescued more than 350 flood‑affected residents in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, while continuing rescue and relief operations across the district.
Satna district in Madhya Pradesh has been grappling with severe flooding after heavy monsoon rains swelled the Guna and Bansagar rivers. Local authorities reported that water levels breached embankments, inundating low‑lying villages and cutting off road access.
The State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) deployed teams of rescue personnel, boats and high‑water vehicles, managing to evacuate over 350 residents from flooded homes. Rescue crews worked round the clock, providing temporary shelters, food and medical aid to those displaced.
In addition to ground operations, the Indian Army assisted by airlifting two stranded individuals from isolated pockets using a helicopter, underscoring the coordinated multi‑agency response. SDRF officials said relief efforts will continue until water recedes and normalcy returns to the affected communities.
