Heavy rains have triggered flooding in Bhograi block of Odisha, cutting off road access to more than 130 villages.
Heavy monsoon rains over the past 24 hours have caused the Bhograi block in Balasore district, Odisha, to be inundated, leaving over 130 villages without road connectivity. The rising water levels have submerged low‑lying roads and bridges, making vehicular movement impossible and isolating residents in remote hamlets.
District officials have deployed rescue teams equipped with boats and inflatable rafts to reach stranded families. Temporary relief camps are being set up on higher ground, where basic supplies such as food, drinking water and medical kits are being distributed.
