On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Bhopal organized a large‑scale lighting ceremony under the ‘Aashirvaad Ka Diya’ initiative, illuminating more than 125,000 lamps across Narela and other key sites.

Bhopal marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a coordinated lighting drive titled “Aashirvaad Ka Diya.” The event saw more than 125,000 oil‑lamps ignited, primarily in the Narela area, creating a sea of light that stretched across the neighbourhood.

In addition to the mass illumination in Narela, ceremonial lamps were also lit at the residence of state minister Vishwas Sarang and at the Shaurya Smarak, a war memorial in the city. Officials described the lighting as a symbolic gesture of gratitude and blessings for the Prime Minister.

The programme, organized by local authorities in collaboration with state officials, was intended to foster a sense of unity and patriotism among residents. Security personnel were deployed to manage crowds and ensure smooth conduct of the event.

While the lighting was the focal point, organizers also distributed small diyas to households in nearby colonies, encouraging community participation. The event concluded with a brief address by senior officials, who highlighted the significance of collective goodwill on a national leader’s birthday.

No major incidents were reported, and the ceremony ended without disruption, leaving the city bathed in a festive glow that reflected both cultural tradition and political reverence.
